First of, you will need to download the installer. To do so, go to the official download page. On the download page, you may select the lastest version.

At the time of writing this story, 7.9.5 is the lastest.

Official website and download page
Np++ 7.9.5 Download page

Once on the download page, you can either click on the green download button or choose your prefered version lower on the page. I personnally take the 64-bit x64 Installer.

Once it is downloaded, you can run the executable you just downloaded. It will prompt you to enter your prefered language. You may choose the on ehtatsuite you the most. I will go with english for this procedure.

On these first pages you will be greeted and asker to read the License Agreement.

This section tell you what you can and cannot do with the software.

Once read, click Next.

Install Path

Here it ask you where you want to install the software. If you are unsure, leave it by default.

If you have more than one drive, you may want to install it there to reduce the usage of your primary system drive C:\.

Once your choice made, press Next.

On the Choose Components page ask you if you want to change some settings.

All the already checked is the recommended settings.

Here you have 2 options. The first one is if you want it to add a shortcut on your desktop. I personnally don’t want it.

Clicking install will install the software. Even on slower computer it shouldn’t take more than a minute.

Click Finish and Voila! Notepad++ is now installed on your Windows computer!

Hoping this story have helped you to install Notepad++. If interested, you may take a look on how to install Git Source control.
